Memphis and tunica

Memphis and Tunica
May 6-11, 2012
6 DAYS/5 NIGHTS

Springtime in the south brings much to mind! Finger-lickin barbecue, world-famous attractions, neighborhoods with personality and history you can’t find anywhere else fill this area with sights, sounds and smells for the soul. And, of course, those Vegas style casino’s in the Tunica Resort area will all be waiting for us as we make our way down south!  Here is a sample of what to expect!

Our city tour of Memphis tells the story of the City of Blues.  We’ll join the internationally famous Peabody Ducks as they parade through the Peabody’s Grand Lobby and have time to experience the history of America’s most famous musical streets, Beale Street. The Rock n Soul Museum shares the story of the birth of rock n roll and soul music.  We’ll enter a home fit for a king, Graceland, home of Elvis Presley and explore St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to learn the history of the hospital and its founder, Danny Thomas.

Tunica is the South’s Vegas!  Besides visiting a number of area casino’s during our stay, we will also tour the Tunica away from the “lights.”  Travel through cotton fields along the great Mississippi Levee and learn about plantation work, river beds and the cotton gin.  Ride on a Delta Flatboat at the Gaylord      Opryland to experience the lifestyle of days long gone.
