Day 1: Bound for Charlotte, North Carolina
Today, we travel through the Midwest on our way to the Queen City of Charlotte, North Carolina. Overnight in Ohio.
Day 2: Mount Airy and Mayberry, USA
Step back into the time of the 60’s tv show starring Mount Airy born, Andy Griffith. Stroll down Main Street and you’ll be on the look out for Aunt Bea and Opie! Our guide brings us to Floyd’s Barber Shop, Old Mayberry Jail Andy’s childhood home and much more! Later, overnight in Charlotte, NC., home for the next 3 nights.
Day 3: Sully, Billy Graham Library, Sox AAA
An adventurous day is planned with visits to the Carolina Aviation Museum, home of the Airbus A320 used on US Airways Flight 1549, Miracle on the Hudson. We enjoy a visit to the Billy Graham Library for a moving experience when transported into the life and faith of this beloved evangelist. This evening, it’s off to the Charlotte Knights baseball game, the Triple A minor league team of the Chicago White Sox!
Day 4: Nascar, Charlotte Speedway
The Nascar Hall of Fame includes numerous interactive exhibits along with a chance on a simulator to win the race! Later, visit the Charlotte Speedway for the Feel the Thrill Tour. Gain access to the Garage, Pit Road, Victory Lane and Infield Tracks and feel the full tilt force of the 24 degree banking while riding the track. Afterwards, learn all about Charlotte and it’s history on our guided tour.
Day 5: Beckley, West Virginia Coal Mining
Today, we leave Charlotte and begin our way home but not before a visit to Beckley. Ride through the dark passages of a vintage coal mine. Our guide is a veteran miner and will provide firsthand accounts of the daily responsibilities and travail of past and present day miners. Overnight in Ohio.
Day 6: Fair Oaks Farm
Before our return, we enjoy lunch and the Dairy and Crop Adventure at Fair Oaks Farm. Learn about farming practices, our soil and the future of farming in order to feed the world. Visit the dairy birthing area and learn about the milking process and safety and nutrition in our milk.
