From Manhattan to the Lower East Side, Broadway to Lady Liberty - you don't want to miss out on this fabulous tour of New York City!

DESCRIPTION:

Day 1: Heading East. Our adventure begins as we travel through Ohio with an overnight in Clarion, Pennsylvania.

Day 2: Broadway. Today, we arrive at our hotel and have time to unpack and relax before heading into NYC for dinner and a Broadway show!

Day 3: Manhattan. There is no better way to begin our tour of this exciting city than by seeing it from above. The Top of the Rock is located in the heart of Rockefeller Center and has the most breathtaking views in the city. See the aerial view of Central Park, the Hudson River, Manhattan and even New Jersey. Later, we’ll meet our guide for a tour of Manhattan and its iconic sites. Tour Rockefeller Center and St. Patrick's Cathedral. See the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, the Dakota, Upper East Side and Fifth Avenue. Take a walk in Central Park and explore Grand Central Terminal.

Day 4: Lower Manhattan. Get a glimpse into New York’s immigrant heritage and how it is shaping the city today. Visit Little Italy, where cafes evoke memories of this once thriving immigrant community and authentic local shops, some over 100 years old, still offer fresh mozzarella, salami, gelato and pastries. Visit Chinatown, one of the largest concentrations of Chinese in the Western Hemisphere. Tour Lower Manhattan including the World Trade Center site, the 9/11 Memorial and the Survivor Tree. Walk down Wall Street and view the New York Stock Exchange and Trinity Church. We'll cross over the Manhattan Bridge to explore Brooklyn. Stop at the Brooklyn Bridge Park for the most fabulous views and picture opportunities of Manhattan. Enjoy free time for lunch at The Time Out Market in Brooklyn. We'll learn about Brooklyn Heights and another trendy Brooklyn neighborhood, Dumbo. This evening, enjoy one of Brooklyn's authentic delis for a wonderful dinner including NY cheesecake!

Day 5: Land of Liberty. Today, we will take a ferry to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty with our guide to learn the history of immigration to New York, how Ellis Island came to be the principal entry point for immigrants to the United States, its total abandonment and eventual restoration. Afterwards, visit the 9/11 Museum which tells the story of 9/11 through archives, interactive technology, narratives and a collection of artifacts. 

Day 6: We begin our journey home with an overnight stay in Strongsville, Ohio.

Day 7: Northlake. Before arriving home, we’ll stop in Shipshewana in Indiana. Known for its Amish community, Shipshewana's pace will be a change from the past week! Enjoy a hearty lunch and stroll the area for handmade items and tasty take home souvenirs!
