Day 1: Let's journey just 80 miles outside of downtown Chicago to Ottawa, Illinois in the heart of Starved Rock Country. Begin the day with a tour of Ottawa - considered to be "in the middle of everywhere" - and check out the historical sites of the Radium Dial Memorial (get the whole story behind the Netflix movie, Radium Girls), the original Carson Pirie Scott & Co, and the 1858 Lincoln-Douglas debates location! Enjoy a delicious lunch at The Lone Buffalo Restaurant and Brewery (the former Carson Pirie Scott & Co.) before free time for shopping and exploring downtown Ottawa's Washington Square Park. Check into Starved Rock Lodge and relax. Enjoy dinner at your leisure.
Day 2: Begin the day with a trolley tour of Starved Rock State Park and take in the sites followed by a lunch buffet. After lunch, enjoy the Midwest Dueling Pianos Show - a collection of some of the best entertainers in the industry. Their interactive musical comedy experience will have you singing, shouting, dancing and laughing so hard you’ll be doubled over before we head back home after this springtime getaway!
