Join your fellow travelers on a wonderful 11-day/10-night tour to the wonderful country of Poland. We will enjoy a direct scheduled flight from Chicago to Krakow. There will be full meal and beverage service en route, 9-nights at highly rated hotels included, as well as 22 meals (9 breakfasts, 4 lunches and 9 dinners). Full sightseeing is also included with a local expert guide and plenty of free time for individual sightseeing, shopping, relaxation, and evening entertainment. Enjoy the wonderful temperatures averaging in the 70’s during the day while the countryside displays its beauty, sanctuaries and places listed as World Heritage Sites by UNESCO. A valid passport is required for this tour.

Day 1: Depart Chicago’s O’Hare Airport in the evening on an overnight flight with one connection to Krakow, Poland. (Meals on board)

 

Day 2: Upon arrival, we’ll meet our local guide and travel to the city center of Krakow. Enjoy a panoramic city tour of Krakow, Wawel Hill, Old Town and Saint Mary’s Church and have time in the largest medieval market square in Europe, Rynek Glowny. After checking into our hotel, we’ll enjoy a welcome dinner. Overnight in Krakow. Krakow was listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

 

Day 3: Travel to Auschwitz-Birkenau for a guided tour of the former German Nazi concentration camp in Aushwitz-Birkenau. Today, this is a World Heritage Site of UNESCO. After lunch, we’ll visit the Wieliczka Salt Mine, one of the oldest salt mines in the world. In 1978, this was listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. A dinner and concert ends our evening.

 

Day 4: We depart for Sromowce Wyzne for sailing on traditional wooden rafts downs the Dunajec River. After lunch, we’ll head to the Polish mountain capital of Zakopane where we will visit the town and ride the funicular or chairlift up to Gubalowka for a beautiful view over the Tatra Mountains. Mass will be celebrated before we return to Krakow and dinner at our hotel.

 

Day 5: We check out of our hotel and transfer to Wwdowice, where Pope John Paul II was born in 1920. Visit his home and church where he was baptized. After our visit, we depart for Czestochowa for the miraculous icon of the Virgin Mary—the Black Madonna. Our overnight is in Wroclaw.

 

Day 6: Today, we tour Wroclaw, nicknamed “the Venice of Poland” where our tour ends at Market Square for free time and lunch.

 

Day 7: We leave for Torun today where a guided tour of this medieval town listed as The World Heritage site by UNESCO allows a chance to visit the house of Copernicus. We see a cathedral built in 1250-1500 and have free time in town before departing for Gdansk.

 

Day 8: Enjoy a guided tour of Gdansk, one of the richest cities in the 17th century. Enjoy the Cathedral of Oliwa and organ concert. We’ll visit the Gdansk shipyard and walk to Sopot, the capital of the Polish Sea. Learn of the spot where WWII began on Sept 1, 1939.

 

Day 9: We depart for Malbork and visit the largest brick castle in the world, the Malbork Castle Museum started in 1380. This in on UNESCO’s List of Human Heritage. We check into our hotel in Warsaw.

 

Day 10: Today, enjoy a full day of touring Warsaw: Laziekowski Park with the Frederic Chopin monument, The Warsaw Ghetto and Umschlagplatz, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the Palace of Culture and Science, Krakowskie Przedmiescie Street and the Old Town, (a UNESCO site) which was completely destroyed during WWII and reconstructed thanks to the commitment of the Polish nation. Overnight in Warsaw.

Day 11: Today after breakfast, we’ll transport to the Warsaw airport and begin our trip back home with a direct flight.(Meals on board)

  • Roundtrip home pick up to/from departure airport. (40 mile instate mileage restrictions may apply)

  • Round trip regularly scheduled nonstop flights to and from Warsaw and Krakow and full meal service en route.

  • 9-nights hotel stay based-on double occupancy. The Single Supplement is an additional $585 per single.

  • Sightseeing (as listed in the itinerary) aboard a private, deluxe, temperature-controlled motorcoach with English speaking local guides.

  • All room and meal taxes.
