Day 1: Join us as we begin our adventure to New England with an overnight in New York.
Day 2: Tour the Vermont Marble Museum and sample Vermont cheese! A mountain lodge awaits our arrival.
Day 3: Visit a maple farm to discover how maple syrup is tapped and processed. Capture the nation's smallest capital building on film at Montpelier. Enjoy a delicious luncheon at the Von Trapp Lodge followed by a tour of the grounds and burial sites of the Renown Von Trapp Family. Today is completed with a tour of Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream Factory AND a taste, of course!
Day 4: Today, travel to New Hampshire - but not before a stop at Quechee Gorge, Vermont's Little Grand Canyon. Once in New Hampshire, board a pontoon boat for a relaxing cruise on Squam Lake, the filming location for the 1981 film, "On Golden Pond." Board the Winnipesaukee Dinner Train for a turkey dinner feast served while traveling along the western shores of Lake Winnipesaukee.
Dauy 5: Leave your bags behind and travel to Maine for the day and evening. Begin the day in Kennebunkport with a drive past the sandy beaches and rocky coastline, past the George Bush estate at Walker's Point. Hear the history of the shipbuilding towns and legend of the Wedding Cake House. Visit the seaside Franciscan Monastery with its beautiful landscaping and outdoor shrines. Later, explore Portland with a city tour followed by a lobster cruise, complete with narration. The end of the day is closed with a lobster dinner!
Day 6: As we head back west, a stop at Old Sturbridge Village shares what life in early New England was like. Overnight in PA.
Day 7: Today, we continue our travels with a stop at Boulder Field, a National Landmark in the Poconos!
Day 8: A stop at Sauder Village for a delicious luncheon is made before returning to our Midwestern home!
